LIAM DALY “Mystic Waters”
The topic of this artwork was focusing on freedom and setting, while also utilizing part of my creature designs. The particular theme that I used in this setting was a more oceanic area, using an open ocean to represent the area. The communication the artwork conveys is a sense of freedom, openness and choice of whatever you want to do. The symbolism is a combination of the creature featured, and the ocean setting. Ocean waters are often known to be free, as said in the quote “there are no walls in the ocean”, nothing holding anyone back. The creature represents artists, being free in a creative, unlimited setting, akin to that of the open ocean. A3 Paper, Copic Markers
LIAM DALY “Beginning of the End” The topic of this artwork was focusing on a sense of the future as well as utilizing my creature designs. The communication within the artwork is focused on communicating the concept of being unaware of what the future entails for you, for the mystery of where your life will take you, and yet, that similar sense of familiarity, that you know where you’ll be able to go. The cliff is a symbol of the peak, the highest point one can reach, and the mysterious shapes represent the eventual result of their efforts. The materials I used were paper and pencil. The aesthetic qualities within the artwork are the exclusive use of pencil, creating that sense of the unknown, representing the colourless, undefined future. A3 Paper, Lead Pencil
